I am keen to study the HND Business Management at the highly esteemed Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College as part of my higher education plan and reach to my career goals.

This course under the well-known awarding body Edexcel has been designed to prepare students with contemporary business management knowledge to match the ever changing global business and organisations and their effective management.

The course structure is planned to develop students’ knowledge gradually and progressively so that the foundations laid at the start gets stronger as study progresses to final phase. In the first year, I will have chance to learn areas including Business Environment, Marketing, Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management (HRM), Finance, Managing Business Activities to Achieve Results, Aspects of Contracts, Managing Communications, Knowledge and Information – these will be ideal preparation for me to go into the deeper stage in the second phase to attain higher levels of knowledge in the area.

In second year, I will learn the Business Strategy, Business Decision Making, Human Resource Development, Personal and Professional Development, Working with and Leading People, Small Business Enterprise, Employability Skill modules which would expand my knowledge horizon in the important functional areas of business and organisations and enhance my skills for personal and professional development to enter into career market confidently and comfortably. The Research Project module will enable me to learn techniques that are vital to explore insight the business management and collect fact and figures from different sources to give my learning true shape.

To add value to the academic learning, the course is designed to provide, transferable skills, cognitive skills, practical skills. The tuition aims to develop interpersonal skills, critical thinking ability, communication skills, analytical ability and above all build personal development. The breadth of knowledge and skills offered by the course and tuition will give me a strong platform to start my BA Degree course in the same area and enable me to complete the degree within one year.

In my recent study of HSC, I have studied Principles of Business, Accounting, Economics and Commercial Studies – these subjects have similarities with the learning outcome and syllabus structure of this HND I have chosen. This will complement the learning and help me understand the HND study better with greater interest. My other subjects including statistics, mathematics, English in my SSC and HSC will also have transferrable learning areas to some extent and this would help me gathering maximum output from the learning target of this HND. I must motion that HND is a higher level academic programme than that of my current qualifications and hence I will gain advanced level knowledge and learning from the study while making academic progressions.

In my home country Bangladesh, some new opportunities have opened through the International Private sector businesses. As the education in UK is highly valued in Bangladesh, completion of my study in here in the UK will make me a stronger candidate and will enhance my chances in employment.

Nevertheless, my father is a well established businessman in my country. He has been running his own business for 27 years now. After my study I can also help him to expand his business further and take it to greater success with western business management tools and techniques.  

I have chosen to study in the UK, because UK qualifications are highly respected in my country and all over the world.
