A devoted student of business discipline since my secondary school, I have recently completed a BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Business successfully. The qualification has perfectly set a platform for me to start my bachelor degree study in the area of business in the UK universities. I have taken considerations for options available for me at different institutions, and finally decided to study the BSc (Hons) Business and Management at the BPP University, the UK’s only university purely dedicated to business and professions.

As I understand from the syllabus of the programme, it aims to provide a comprehensive knowledge of all business discipline while equip with applied competencies and real-world practice allowing students to develop the skills that are required for professional development and career success.

Learning offered by the core modules of the programme could surely place me in the centre of business activities around near and far world while knowledge offered by the elective modules of this course would enlarge the sphere with further edge.

The year one of this BSc is designed with a range of well-rounded areas that include Commercial Awareness, Professional Practice and Ethics, Understanding Financial Statements, Introduction to Human Resource Management, Business Economics, Mathematics Skills for Business, Business Finance, Organisational Behaviour, Academic Skills and Employability, Introduction to Maths. The stage is carefully crafted to mould a strong foundation in business management study so that one can top the foundation up with further levels and progress towards higher attainments.

The year two modules including Management accounting for Business, Theory of Management, Knowledge management and Information Systems, Financial markets and Institutions, in fact, lead to advanced level of knowledge while focusing in management side of business and aim to provide tools in decision making, controls, analysis and introduce with key functions of business that is finance and domains of finance. Further to this the elective modules come with some exciting and challenging areas e.g. Digital Business in the Social Age, Entrepreneurship, Professional Skills for Business Careers which have captured my interests for this course intensely.

Contemporary Issues and Research, Service and Operational Excellence, Business Strategy, Business Integration Project modules in year three of the study shape the earlier learning with higher depth and business insight so that graduates gain mature knowledge and skills to start a business career. The rich provisions of elective modules at this stage include Applied Marketing and Decisions, Introduction to International Business, Leadership, Change Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Financial Derivatives, Company Law – choice of any combination to match contemporary organisational demands and employee demands could be the distinction to accomplish competitive edge when searching for jobs post qualification.

I studied Mathematics, Introduction to Business, Accounting, Principles of Business and Practice, Financial Products & Marketing in my SSC and HSC qualifications. I have followed my academic interest in these areas by studying the CTEC Level 3 Certificate in Business in which I have covered The Business Environment, Business Resources, and Business Communication units. Now by following this BSc (Hons) Business Management course, I can take lead and gain a Bachelor Degree that could give me academic progressions and avail me career opportunities or open chances for further academic study at masters level.

I am absolutely confident that I can enhance my base knowledge of business studies from my past and current studies by complementing the learning units of this BSc (Hons) Business Management programme under Business Studies section of BPP University.

From the study, I aim to develop my knowledge and skills in areas of study which reflect the international business and its functions, operations and management in the everyday global competition. I target to gain high level Professional awareness of key developments and issues in different sectors through the study of a range of intellectually challenging units relating to diverse business management underpinning the core business functions of finance, people, operations, information and marketing. I strive to strengthen my research and analytical skill and contribute innovative ideas to tackle the changing nature of global business and introduce theories and models for the development of future improvement and business and organizations.

On completion of this course, I will have developed my ability to analyse problems logically and apply decision-making skills and knowledge to reach feasible and realistic management and business solutions. I will have gained problem solving, negotiation, persuasion, leadership, self-management, team work skills along with other soft and cognitive skills which are transferable to articulate a successful career in both the private and public sectors.

On graduation, I expect imminent opening of career opportunities as business executive, business analysts, finance officer, marketing executive. But as I set my vision at higher level, I will aim to follow a master degree in the same discipline if I get the opportunity. In five to 10 years time, post qualification with a postgraduate qualification in business management, I see myself as one of the successful business manager in multinational companies in the ever developing Bangladesh, my motherland. I also see myself a self-starter of innovative business as entrepreneur and promote my personal brand in successful business enterprise of mine.

BPP University bridge the gap between education and professional practice – as a student of business, this feature has motivated me the most. The university incorporate contemporary business discourses and practices in the delivery of teaching – the classroom is set to simulate business and professional environment.
