Tourism is now one of the largest industries in the world, with increasingly less and less of the world untouched by its influence. As such, it operates in highly dynamic and diverse sets of environments.

Tourism Business, Tourism Management have brought business and tourism in single platform. The modern tourism industry requires managers with relevant knowledge and skills. A BSc programme in Business and Tourism can mingle business and tourism for the efficient management of tourism business and qualified graduates can contribute further towards the advancement of the industry. I have found these aspects of the programme offered by Anglia Ruskin University London campus, LCA inspiring for my academic pursuits and career vision and chosen to learn the art.

From the programme, I aim to learn about the need for the integrated provision of tourism (including attractions, events, amenities, access, transport and distribution), and recognise the requirement for tourism development to acknowledge the interests of not only visitors but also a variety of other stakeholders. I also consider the impacts of tourism, and recognise the need for responsible management in order to maximize its potential and minimize associated problems.

Alongside this, I strive to develop knowledge of broader associated managerial issues relating to human, information and financial resources, as well as communication, team working, organizational and analytical problem-solving and creative skills; these will form part of an integrated personal development portfolio.

Earlier I had studied Accounting, Economics, Business Organisation, Business Mathematics and Statistics, Business English and Communication, Principles and Methods of Management subjects in my Higher Secondary Certificate (Business Management) Examination. Most recently I have studied Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting, Academic Study Skills for Accounting subjects in my Prep Diploma in Strategic & Financial Management under London Metropolitan University at LSBF (I could not finish the course since LSBF is not continuing it due to problem with the university).

The above study areas have similarities with most of the modules of my chosen course at LCA – fully and partially with the syllabus and learning outcomes. Therefore, my previous study knowledge will complement this BSc study and I will be able to transfer my knowledge for higher learning and achievements.

This BSc programme is designed to provide higher level knowledge, and since all my previous studies were at lower levels, the study will enhance my academic height of attainments with a UK Bachelor Degree and earn me professional and career progressions.

In today’s tough jobs market, graduates need to stand out from the crowd to successfully secure that all important first full-time job after university.  My degree from LCA Business School will definitely enhance my employability since the aim of this course is to produce employable, entrepreneurial, innovative and responsible graduates who can manage the challenges facing the industry.
