I am Md Y Hossain from Bangladesh and I am intending to pursue a BSc (Hons) Business Studies (International) programme at the University of Bedfordshire because it will enhance my analytical, critical appreciation, and research skills. This course is suitable for me because it will help me to enhance my academic qualifications, gain practical experience and knowledge and provide opportunities to build a successful career. Moreover, this course will show me how organizations must change their management to operate in a dynamic business climate. From this course, I will be able to focus on applying concepts in real-life professional business situations and learn how to provide an evaluation. So, I believe that this course will help me become professional and proficient in my future career.

I completed my Secondary and Intermediate from the Business Studies group respectively in 2016 and 2018 from Dhaka Board, Bangladesh. While studying in school and college, I was involved in various co-curricular activities to enrich my knowledge and skills. Attended and organized different types of seminars and workshops, participated in different voluntary services and activities, and actively participated in the debate workshop in School and College. After completing my Intermediate education I was waiting for a public university re-admission test in my home country but due to political chaos now, I would like to pursue my bachelor’s degree in the UK and choose to study BSc (Hons) Business Studies (International) programme at the University of Bedfordshire that would benefit me professionally. I think I should gain more knowledge in the field of Business so I decided to continue my further studies with this course. As I want to explore my career in business positions, this course will give me an upper hand to understand any business contexts and situations. As of the moment, I am interested in learning all the related skills and knowledge from this course. If I can successfully complete this course, doing this course provides academic knowledge and skills to pursue career opportunities worldwide and will help me develop a broader understanding of specific areas. The course modules are arranged in a way that bears a lot of resemblance to my academic education so I look forward to studying the course. I think I should gain more knowledge in the field of business so I decided to continue my further studies with this course. So, I am confident that my professional goal makes me a suitable candidate for the course.

I have seen the course modules of BSc (Hons) Business Studies (International) programme at the University of Bedfordshire are adjusted to the modern organizations and the global competitive business environment. This course is designed to develop transferable skills in problem-solving, job analysis, presentation, teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and business projects in realistic business settings. From this course, I will be able to cover basic business in a contemporary business context. These modules include Business Practice Explored, Managing People, Using Data to Build Business Practice, Finance for Business, Accounting for Business, Leadership and Management, Planning Careers and Employability, Strategy and Innovation, Operations and Project Management, Marketing Communications in the Digital Age, Preparation for the Dissertation, Developing Employability skills – The future You, Business Practice Portfolio, Dissertation, and International Business. My chosen course will enable me to gain appropriate knowledge, understanding and practical skills relevant to the international business research environment. And these modules will help me to broaden my knowledge of business understanding in an international context which will prepare me for my employment in an increasingly internationalized business world. This course will able to me acquire the necessary skills and knowledge of the business-related, business environment, nature of organization and management. This course focuses on the prevalent and emerging sustainable business and it encourages me to pursue a long career. Hopefully, I have been able to clear the purpose of my admission to the university. After completing this course, I would like to go on to establish my career as a Business Analyst or Business Development Manager in a reputed organization in my country. So, I believe this course will be the right choice for my career plans and objectives.

UK’s academic reputation is globally renowned and it is known that having a graduate degree from a UK university will definitely propel one’s career to a significant level. However, the study environment in my country follows the theoretical system of education which is quite different and no soft skills are acquired. The UK maintains a quality management system with high standards in all fields. In recent years, all companies in Bangladesh are emphasizing hiring Bangladeshi graduates with degrees from abroad, as they see the transferrable skills carried forward from international education will play a key role in transforming their approach to business and believe these graduates are capable of doing so. The transferable skills from the UK are key to advancing graduates through organizational growth and gaining a competitive advantage. This reason attracted me to pursue a degree in the UK. A recent survey of International Graduation Results in 2019 produced by iGraduate by Universities UK International shows that 82% of international graduates say their UK degree is valuable for financial investment and a similar number of graduates say they are satisfied or very satisfied with their careers. About 83% think a UK degree has helped them get a job. These aspects have driven my ambition to get a degree from a UK institution.

My choice is the University of Bedfordshire because it incredibly welcomes international students and I am attracted to this course because it offers a different perspective in an area where I want to study. In addition, the University of Bedfordshire is dedicated to supporting international students to develop the skills, mental intelligence and creativity needed to improve in a constantly changing world and the competitive job market. To support students the University have invested heavily in their facilities to shape the physical and intellectual environment of learning. The university is ranked 801st in the QS World University Rankings by Top Universities and has an overall score of 4.1 stars, according to student reviews in the study portals. 91% of graduates in work and/or further study within six months of graduating (DLHE 2018). In addition, the university has a good reputation for teaching, research and business partnerships. And it will be a great achievement for me if I get the opportunity to study at the University of Bedfordshire.
