I take great inspiration from my recently attained higher study programme, MBA International under Anglia Ruskin University to further expand my knowledge in the branches of business management and gain all-round efficiency. One of the major areas that has been highlights of global business success in most recent time is International Marketing and this was not served in the menu of my MBA syllabus. To fulfil my academic aspiration with complete satisfaction, I have committed myself to undertake the MSc International Marketing Programme at BPP University.

While researching the course, modules offered and the syllabus covered in this MSc, I have taken great joy to find out that I will have outstanding opportunities to gain significant knowledge, skills and competencies from the study in the area of marketing on the platform of business management. I have also opted to undertake the Academic and Career Skills (ACS) module alongside this MSc to sharpen my competitive edge and boost my career opening in grand style.

I understand the study of this MSc course will develop my appreciation of strategies and tactics for international markets, along with their implications, as well as building my understanding of marketing management for multinational and global organisations. The study will provide me with a comprehensive framework for understanding theories, concepts, issues and applications of marketing in an international and global context. I will learn the psychology of marketing i.e. The psychology of how consumers think, feel, reason, and select between different alternatives (e.g., brands, products, and retailers); how the consumer is influenced by his or her environment (e.g., culture, family, signs, media); behaviour of consumers while shopping or making other marketing decisions and limitations in consumer knowledge or information processing abilities influence decisions and marketing outcome.

I will be equipped with the systematic gathering, recording, analysis and interpretation of information about a company’s markets, competitors and customers covering external market environment i.e. market analysis, market size calculations, competitor analysis, substitute products (or services) analysis, and market growth predictions from market assessment research.  Learn the techniques for managing international brands including brand promise, differentiation, positioning, strategy, conditions for successful branding, measures of brand familiarity for strategic planning. The study will also enable me to develop a sound understanding in finance for marketers – I will be able to identify and understand the flow of money through a business; learn the value of cash and techniques for cash management; know how to differentiate between types of funding for a business, calculate the weighted average cost of capital; understand components of the three major financial statements: the profit and loss account, the balance sheet and the cash flow statement.

The tuition would help me to develop hands-on skills of how to make international marketing decisions from applied exercise that allows experiencing the challenges pertaining to corresponding decisions by playing the role of a responsible manager for a major consumer products company. I will learn to develop measures and metrics to evaluate marketing effectiveness, global strategy, and enhanced performance. I will gain competencies of creating value by adopting marketing policies to determine positioning, prices, distribution channels, and promotion for innovative products in new markets. I will have clear understanding of the key market drivers that impact brand and learned to identify issues that may restrict progress in meeting the objectives set for my plan covering areas including organisation health check, barriers, creative idea, and engagement strategy. I will learn how advertising works, gain understanding how advertising messages communicate and persuade, both online and through the use of traditional media, develop ideas and campaigns that meet the needs of clients and consumers, and how to produce convincing professional presentations and pitches.

The ACS module will support my academic development and improve my capability of being effective in the workplace. I will have access to over 90 hours of professional development, workshops and events that will develop my employability skills such as self-management, team working, problem solving, application of IT, communication, application for numeracy, business and customer awareness. I will have opportunities to gain BPP career ready certificates, up to 6 months work experience.

Therefore, there would be comprehensive areas of skill sets and wider fields of knowledge that this MSc will present for the enhancement of current knowledge and efficiency. I will have a real chance to transform my generic knowledge gained from my recent MBA to professional accomplishment and professional attainments. The study modules of the MBA will complement the MSc study due to similarities in parts of syllabus and most certainly enrich and extend my levels to greater points.

After graduation with this practice oriented MSc, I expect open my career as Advertising Executive, Promotions Coordinator, Customer Relations Advisor, Publicity Officer, Brand Executive, Public Relations Manager in international companies in Bangladesh. I am confident that within 5 years of career I can develop and progress my career with higher role and more responsibilities. In next 10 years, I want to see myself in the management position with international exposures.

While searching for the right university for this study programme, I have not found any other university offer the mix balance of modules that are applied in nature and international in features. The academic and career skills module is simply unique to the university.
